Entry requirements

Your path to ECC may begin in different ways. This programme accommodates multiple admission routes, and our Admissions team can help you understand how your qualifications fit.

CSEC route: Five (5) subjects, including English A, Mathematics, one related technical subject—Technical Drawing, Building Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronic Technology or Visual Arts—or one science subject—Physics, Chemistry or Integrated Science—and two (2) other appropriate subjects. Passes must be at Grades I, II or III; Grade III passes must have been obtained after September 1998.

GCE O-Level route: Five (5) subjects at Grades A, B or C, including English Language, Mathematics, one of the related technical or science subjects listed above, and two (2) other appropriate subjects.

Equivalent qualifications and Level 3 HEART/NSTA Trust NVQ-J certification may be considered as alternate forms of matriculation, as determined by the CCCJ.

Mature-entry applicants must be over twenty-five (25) years old and have at least five (5) years of experience in a related specialised area such as mechanical engineering, woodwork, construction or electrical engineering. Applicants are assessed individually using their employment portfolio, certificates of achievement, positions held with job descriptions and community involvement.

Your associate degree journey includes more than the curriculum table.

Depending on your entry qualifications, you may need Foundation Mathematics or English. Applicable associate degree students also complete PACE, U-VAC, Information Literacy, Social Outreach and other published college-wide requirements. These requirements do not continue into the bachelor’s stage.
