You’ll explore human behaviour, community practice and helping skills through practical projects, teamwork and experiences that bring the profession to life. Along the way, you’ll discover where your strengths can take you—toward opportunities such as social-service assistant or community outreach officer, entrepreneurship or further study.

Entry requirements
Your path to ECC may begin in different ways. This programme accommodates multiple admission routes, and our Admissions team can help you understand how your qualifications fit.
A minimum of five (5) CSEC or GCE O-Level passes, including English A/English Language and Mathematics.
Student membership in the Jamaican Association for Social Workers is recommended.
Equivalent qualifications and mature status may be considered in accordance with CCCJ/ECC policy.

Your associate degree journey includes more than the curriculum table.
Depending on your entry qualifications, you may need Foundation Mathematics or English. Applicable associate degree students also complete PACE, U-VAC, Information Literacy, Social Outreach and other published college-wide requirements. These requirements do not continue into the bachelor’s stage.
